Snow in Midsummer 458-459 [1-3-2012]

Today I read pages 458 - 459 of Snow in Midsummer. Dou begins weeping about what has happened to his daughter. Dou E's case reminds Dou of a story in the Han Dynasty where a widow whose mother-in-law hung herself and whose sister-in-law accused her of murdering the women. She was executed by because of her unjust death there was no rain in that district for three years. After Lord Yu changed the verdict, killed a bull, and sacrificed at her grave it started rain really hard. Since Dou E's case is very similar Dou plans to right this wrong for his daughter the very next day.
