Pseudolus 275-277 [1-6-2012]
Today I read pages 275 - 276 of Pseudolus. The play starts with Pseudolus begging Calidorus to tell him what is wrong with him. Calidorus has for days now appeared more dead then alive holding a letter in his hands and crying his eyes out. He won't talk to anyone and Pseudolus really wants to know what is making Calidorus so miserable. Calidorus tells Pseudolus that hes serving a sentence from love. He hands Pseudolus the letter but Pseudolus just sees chicken scratch on the paper compared to Calidorus's view of "the lovely letters of this lovely letter written in such a lovely hand." Calidorus thinks that Pseudolus is just making fun of the letter because he said he couldn't read it. He tells him either to read the letter or hand it back. Pseudolus chooses to read the letter. Its a letter from Calidorus's girlfriend sending him wishes in wood.
